History: The club organized on April 27, 1960 and became Federated in February 1961. We were sponsored by the Ada Bruton Garden Club. We are members of the National Garden Clubs, Texas Garden Clubs, District X and the Dallas Council of Garden Clubs. Our motto is Love, Care, Share. Our flower is the Daffodil. Our colors are Yellow & Green. Our vegetable is the carrot.
Recent Projects: a)The Bluebonnet Bounce October 12, 2020. Members participated in planting Bluebonnet Seeds to extend our Bluebonnet plantings at our Community Bluebonnet Field at Sunnyvale School.
b) In addition, we provide upkeep and maintenance at community gardens at the entrance to our town, fire station, library and school administration building.
c) Long Creek Assisted Living Center – we have donated bingo gifts. We have created a Cheer/Pen Pal program to send cards to residents to cheer them up and remember them on their birthday. In August, we made 25 care bags with toiletries for the residents. Each meeting, we collect for “Sharing Life” which is a community food bank.
